About Me
Music Composer For Hire
David Fisher
I am a Music Composer For Hire with over thirty years’ experience in all aspects of music and sound production.
I write, produce, play and programme many styles of music and songs. I have also had considerable experience recording, arranging, mixing and re-looping, dubbing, sound designing and foley work for film. As a sound engineer I have recorded orchestras, opera singers, hypnotists, voice-overs, talking books, Mbira bands, and produced music styles from death metal to traditional folk and chill-out to hip hop.
I am a multi-instrumentalist and singer with my own fully equipped private studio facility.
Since attending a foundation course in art at Epsom College of Art and Design and gaining a 2:1 degree in Philosophy from the University of London I have played hundreds of gigs and festivals all around the UK as a solo artist performing my own songs and as a backing singer, drummer, guitarist, bassist, keyboard player and percussionist with my own and other people’s bands. I once did a solo support slot for Bjorn Again at Aberystwyth University where I bounced on stage on an original Spacehopper! I have performed in musicals (a highlight was as Colonel Pickering in “My Fair Lady” with a live orchestra).
I have been interviewed and played my songs at live radio sessions to promote my own albums all over the country (from Glasgow to Swindon to Hull to Cardiff) I have mixed live bands, been a roadie (on one occasion for The Pete Best Band – the Beatles first drummer!) I have acted in plays by Tom Stoppard, Dario Fo, Alan Ayckbourn, Anton Chekhov and Arnold Wesker. I have recorded many voiceovers for short films. I have been a film sound recordist and boom swinger on sound stages at Pinewood, Shepperton and The Mill (London) film studios, mainly for productions by Panico Pictures (run by Monty Python sound man Bob Doyle). I have mixed the master soundtracks for many films. I have taught drums and guitar. I have run educational music group sessions at SCOLA in Sutton.

“David is a natural born songwriter. He knows the anatomy of writing a song like few people do.”
